Whether you are a large organisaation or family business, this is just one of the many powerful benefits gained from providing Apprenticeship qualifications for your workforce or making an Apprentice your next hire. Apprenticeships are just as beneficial for your existing staff. There is no need to recruit to take advantage of the benefits that providing Apprenticeship opportunities can bring to your staff.
If you choose to recruit a new employee as an Apprentice, then they must have a real, paying job whilst they study. This must be at least at the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices. Apprentices aged 19 or over, who have completed the first year of their Apprenticeship must be paid at least the National Minimum Wage for their age. Minimum Wage rates can be found at www.gov.uk. You may also be eligible for a grant of up £1,500* if recruiting an Apprentice for the first time.
Apprentices learn as they do their job with only the minimum amount of time required for meetings, often with an Assessor who will meet them at times pre-agreed with you. Delivery is also flexible and specifically designed around the needs an demands of your business.
As a practical, work based qualification, Apprenticeship levels range from level 2 to level 4 and above the range in equivalency from GCSE level to degree level. In addition, 88% of Apprentice employers believe Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce, leading to greater loyalty and quality of work (source: National Apprenticeship Service).
